Choke!     VIDEO
Escalating conflicts among adolescents too often lead to violence. Choke! dramatizes this issue, teaching pro-health conflict resolution skills which can de-escalate a situation that may seem out of control. Danny, a talented soccer player, chokes on a free kick and his team loses. When resentful teammates make disparaging remarks, Danny and another player get into an argument, leading to physical threats. Latoya, a member of the girl's team, explains how to de-escalate the conflict without losing face. Another player takes Latoya's words to heart and reveals the reason Danny "choked" on the free kick. Candid discussion and the presentation of artwork and poetry created while in therapy are used to help the group members express their realm of feelings. Guilt, shame, anger, pain, and self-hatred are expressed along with the realization that they can make conscious choices in their lives. The therapist explains how breaking the silence and talking about the incest experience marks the beginning of the healing process. PACT: Positive Adolescent Choices Training : A Model for Violence Prevention Groups with African American Youth      VIDEO
PACT is a video-based staff training program that provides practical guidelines and procedures that have proven to be effective in conducting violence prevention training with African American youth. The program utilizes a three-part training approach: (1) Violence-Risk Education, (2) Anger Management, and (3) Prosocial Skills Training. Surviving Rape

This video explains 5 stages of the grieving process that rape victims encounter, denial, anger, depression, bargaining, and acceptance. Five women- all rape survivors- share their experiences of rape and subsequent grief. Each woman’s road to recovery is different, they all share common feelings of shame, self hatred, and guilt before finally reaching acceptance and self love. They stress the importance of talking about the rape and seeking support from a group in order to begin the healing process.

Firearm murders of youths 19 and under rose 125% in a recent six-year period. Featuring movie star Samuel L. The Rap group Slick Boys uses teen-oriented music to reinforce the anti-violence message. The group, consisting of three Chicago cops who want to get guns away from teens, has won national attention, both from the media and from the young people they work hard to reach.
