What started as a wedding party more than
180 years ago is still going strong. Every year, millions of people visit
the Oktoberfest grounds in Munich to enjoy a slice of Bavarian life.
Learning Objectives:
1) A historical perspective of Munich's famous Oktoberfest celebration will
be provided.
2) Students will be introduced to an important German festival, and they'll
be shown how today's Oktoberfest celebration includes folk traditions,
parades, food, and amusements.
3) There will be a brief overview of one of Germany's most vibrant cities,
and the students' understanding of the German people will be broadened.
