Trace the history of popular music
through its various stages and learn what influence it had upon American
culture.
Learning Objectives:
1) American pop music will be understood as a legitimate medium for
expression.
2) The student will be able to identify ethnic dance, folk, blues, swing,
R&B, country, rockabilly, Motown, British Invasion, and rap music styles.
3) Pop music will be portrayed as being more than a symptom of 'youthful
rebellion.' (60 minutes)
