America, the folk ballads of Britain and Ireland retained much of their
heritage while becoming something new on American soil.
Learning Objectives:
1) Students will learn about the origins of various types of American folk
songs.
2) Students will understand the various influences that shaped music as it
developed in America.
3) Students will listen to American folk music, as it is performed by
