Marine Corps Survival School
DVD Set |
|
Join 25 motivated Marines as they make their way through four weeks of the
most grueling survival training – the Mountain Warfare Training School in
Bridgeport, California.
Part 1
Operated by the United States Marine Corps, the Mountain Warfare Training
School turns out soldiers capable of using their well-honed fighting skills
in virtually any environment on earth. But, these Marines have a lot of work
to do before graduation. Their first challenge is a march through the dense
mountain forest – three miles above sea level. Next is a nine-day wilderness
test, where the recruits learn to coax fire from twigs and catch their own
food. As the temperature drops and conditions become more hazardous, more
than one trainee contemplates bailing out!
Part 2
With their initial training complete, the Marines learn to apply their new
skills. Once again, they are thrown into the wilderness. Only this time,
there are no instructors -trainees are left to fend for themselves in
two-man groups. Watch as they struggle to simply survive while also
completing numerous mandated tasks for their demanding instructors.
Eventually, the harsh conditions and stress get to a number of the Marines –
some drop out and are left behind. For the remaining few, the battle against
their own despair will be as difficult as their struggle against the
elements.
