in school or conduct normal lives. Though often dismissed as “harmless teasing,”
name-calling reinforces unhealthy peer hierarchies and a rigid social order, especially
over time as individual incidents accumulate to become a pattern.

name-calling week in your school, whether it be students, teachers, guidance counselors,
librarians, bus drivers or coaches, a Bullying Survey, classroom exercise materials, and
additional resources.
