Many people become overwhelmed when they see
their doctor or when they need to choose a doctor. They forget to ask the
right questions; they don’t know what kind of doctor to call. This program
from The Doctor Is In follows several people through the medical system,
from the emergency room, to a regular clinic visit, to the Intensive Care
Unit, providing tips for finding the right physician and communicating the
patient’s needs. It also offers advice on helping children through the
medical world. Doctors Robert Foote of the New London, NH, Hospital and Paul
LeMarbre of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center discuss the issues; Dr.
John Wennberg explains the program he developed to give patients more
information about their course of treatment. A Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical
Center production. (26 minutes)
