Getting Along on the Job
Teaches young people essential social skills necessary to function successfully at any
job. Humorous vignettes point out self-defeating reactions to difficult situations and
emphasize positive alternatives.
Part One: Who’s the Boss? focuses on ways to develop positive relationships with
people in authority—even when they “rub you the wrong way.” Teaches when
and how to compromise, when to be assertive, and the importance of acting responsibly.
Part Two: What a Team! concentrates on relationships with co-workers. Presents strategies
for getting along with difficult types, such as the office pet, the flirt, the bully, the
top dog, or the deadweight. Shows how cooperative work skills, communication techniques
and conflict resolution strategies can help viewers get what they want out of a work
situation.
